'You are braver than you think...you are stronger than you believe.'
- A.A. Milne
Everyone has the capacity for change when given the right tools and in the right environment. I treat the whole person - mind, body and spirit. I help individuals and families utilize strengths and recognize abilities they didn't realize they possessed in order for them to transform their lives.
Education and Experience
I received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from The Johns Hopkins University and Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Bowie State University.
I began my counseling career over 20 years ago providing case management for families impacted by HIV/AIDS in Baltimore, Maryland. After relocating to Connecticut in 2001 I conducted therapy at a residential treatment center for traumatized children and adolescents, and later became the clinical director of a crisis stabilization program. Those experiences helped shape my treatment philosophy - that relationships matter and when people feel safe, heard and understood profound change can happen.
